Museum issues plea for 1980s 'retro' show
A Devon museum has asked people to dig out their 1980s memorabilia for a "retro" Christmas event.
Behind the plans is the Crediton Area History and Museum Society, which has established a new education group to focus on children.
Members are looking to forge connections with local schools, providing exhibitions and other events to complement the school curriculum, and want current or retired teachers to help.
The first of the planned fun and dynamic events will be the "1980s Retro Xmas at the Museum". The exhibition, which opens on November 30, will feature toys, games and technology from the 1980s together with a display of photographs from local schools and newspapers of the time.

Fiona Moore, a member of the new group who is collecting items for the exhibition, said: "If anyone has any 80s memorabilia lurking in their attic or local photographs of the period we would love to hear from them."
Sarah Green, a leading member of the new group added: "We would also welcome anyone who is interested in joining us in whatever capacity – all we ask is a little time and lots of enthusiasm."
