Mysterious dog tag appears over 300 miles from couple's Roseland home
A DOG tag bearing the name and phone number of a Roseland couple has mysteriously appeared in a pub 350 miles from their home.
The tag was discovered on the floor of the Carousel pub in Stockport, Greater Manchester, last week. But the couple, Chris and Mary Pollard, have never visited the area.
To add to the mystery, the couple's two dogs have been chipped and do not have tags. The tags for the Pollard's previous two dogs, now deceased, are safely stored at the couple's home on the Roseland.
When the tag arrived in the post with a letter from the pub landlady, Mrs Pollard said: "We ended up just laughing because it was just so ridiculous. It didn't event look anything like the tags for our other dogs."

Mrs Pollard is a well-known animal welfare campaigner who runs Cornwall Voice for Animals.
Two holidaymakers have used the Pollards' name to register their dogs while on holiday in Cornwall in the past, but Mrs Pollard has contacted them both since hearing from the pub landlady – and they know nothing about the mystery.
Mrs Pollard said: "The only possible explanation is that somebody who knows me because of my animal welfare work did this without asking me and did not think I would mind."
