Nadia in nationals
BODMIN'S Nadia Rawson, pictured, has qualified for the national finals of the HSBC Road to Wimbledon Under 14 tennis tournament.
And although the competition is not being staged at The All England Club this year because of the Olympics, Nadia's achievement is still fantastic.
Nadia, representing the Leverton Williams Academy, beat Penzance's Arielle Fitkin (also of Leverton) 3-5, 4-2, 1-0 (10-5) in the county final at Heron Tennis Centre in Newquay on Sunday.
The National Finals are usually held at Wimbledon but with the grass courts being used for the Olympics, they will now take place at the prestigious Bank of England sports ground in Roehampton, adjacent to the LTA National Tennis Centre, from August 13 to 18.
