New art project on its way to Camborne
A NEW art project showcasing local food and produce will be launched in Camborne in April.
Art installations will be on display around the town as part of the Tough Dough Second Bite, a project funded by Arts Council to bring together businesses and communities in Cornwall.
Tough Dough’s ambition is to stimulate the local economy and draw the public into town centres by increasing awareness and enthusiasm for Cornish food and produce through a variety of activities.
Lizzie Black Tough Dough artist explains: “We have just completed the first phase of the project in Hayle where we displayed art works made by the community across the town.

Mel Martin Camborne Business Improvement District (BID) manager, an organisation set up to promote the town said: “We look forward to the product of this lovely project in our local businesses during April and May, encouraging residents and visitors alike to visit our wonderful range of independent food and specialist retailers to enjoy the artworks.”
Tough Dough are working together with Camborne Produce Market, the Food Bank, Sanjay Kumar (community chef) as well as two local schools who have already signed up to take part in the project.
