New bus shelter designs 'too modern' for village
PLANS for new bus shelters in Grampound have hit a road block after the parish council said the proposals were too modern for the village setting.
Cornwall Council has asked for public opinion over plans for the two new "eco" bus shelters. Plans have also been drawn up to improve bus provision in the village.
At an extraordinary meeting of Grampound With Creed Parish Council last week, councillors voted to object to the proposals because they were not in keeping with the village.
Parish council chairman Dean Jenkins said: "More consultation is needed over the designs. They are not sympathetic to the setting of Grampound.

"Surely that is the point of a consultation? You give your opinion on plans. It would be best if the plans were more in keeping with the village setting."
The parish council has written to Cornwall Council requesting a rethink over the designs of the shelters.
