New charity and advice shop for Hayle animal welfare organisation
A new addition to Hayle town centre is not just a charity shop but also a place for people to go and get advice on adopting unwanted moggies and pooches.
The National Animal Welfare Trust (NAWT) already has a shop in Falmouth but decided to open up a new store in the harbour town to forge better links between local people and the rehoming centre on Wheal Alfred Road.

Manager at the kennels Louise Clarke said a lot of people do not know the centre is there.
"It was a really successful opening," she said. "The main reason for having a shop is to publicise and promote the fact that the centre is here. We are going to have lots of information about the dogs and cats needing rehoming."

The shop's manager, Lucy Cooper, also volunteers at the rehoming centre two days a week and will be on hand to give help and advice to anyone thinking about getting a new pet.
Louise added that she had been amazed by the amount and quality of the donations for the shop so far and that people could drop off items either at the shop, Foundry Square of at the centre.
The charity store will be open Tuesday to Saturday from 11am to 4pm.
