FLUSHING'S Seven Stars has been given a new lease of life after two locals took it over.

Susie Popperwell and Julie Nosworthy have previously run cafes and restaurants in Falmouth and are excited to take on the new challenge.

Ms Popperwell said: "I'm originally from Flushing so it's fantastic to be running a pub in the village.

"We've already made new changes including introducing a new menu and bringing in a pool table and we hope to start a regular monthly quiz night."

The outside of the pub is to undergo a complete refurbishment and then work will begin on the inside.

"We hope people will enjoy the hospitality and feel at home in our pub," added Ms Popperwell.
