COMPLEMENTARY therapies combine with watersports to provide a recipe for success for one local group.

Catch a Wave UK CIC, a Penzance social enterprise, is now offering surfing and other activities to help people improve health and wellbeing.

The business was one of several taking part in the Cornwall Social Enterprise Trade Fair last week set up to showcase the achievements of the county's vibrant social enterprise community. This is a form of business that prioritises social or environmental goals over the pursuit of profit.

Catch A Wave's managing director Anne Harrington was thrilled to be rubbing shoulders with like-minded people at the event.

"We feel this is a great opportunity to connect with people who are passionate about their community and environmental concerns, and to inspire others to look at social enterprise as a sustainable way of manifesting their big ideas in society, in a way that benefits everyone," she said.

The group now plans to expand its team of therapists and watersports providers, and has started offering other activities and social events on evenings and weekends.
