Newlyn Art Gallery and Exchange to launch new exhibition in "unusual way"
THE Newlyn Art Gallery and Exchange team is launching a new exhibition, entitled Curiosity: Art and the Pleasures of Knowing, in an “unusual way” next weekend.
The event is set to take place on Friday 24 and will begin in Newlyn with opening speeches - before a procession, led by the Penzance Guize Dancers and the Turkey Rhubarb Guise Band, will march along the Prom up to The Exchange to continue celebrations.
From there the well-known DJ Godden will be “spinning discs” until late, while visitors will have a chance to view some of the works on display - there will also be bars at both venues.
Kathy Hill, marketing officer, said: “This promises to be such an unusual way to launch the show - it would be great to get as many people along as possible”.

The evening begins at 6.30pm and is free to attend, while members are invited to an exclusive viewing in Newlyn from 6pm.
Running until April 26, it is described as “startling exhibition that moves wittily, sometimes mysteriously, between contemporary art, anatomy, Cold War secrets, the origins of museums and voyeurism in everyday life”.
A number of other events are set to take place at both galleries. For a full list of what is going on, visit: http://newlynartgallery.co.uk/exhibitions
