Newquay Art8 Festival to step up a gear for 2014
THE ORGANISERS of Newquay’s popular Art8 festival are calling on residents and businesses to help make next year’s event the best yet.
Coordinator Liz Wright said the team aims to step up a gear to make the 2014 festival a “serious contender in the arts festival calendar”.
It sees shops, restaurants, pubs and galleries open up space for exhibitions and demonstrations, and has proved a hit with visitors and locals over the last two years.
Traders and artists are being urged to attend an open evening on Tuesday, September 17, to find out more.

Liz said: “Many will have seen what has been achieved in 2012 and 2013 and the festival’s organisers feel that everyone can add to it and make it even better.
“We are looking for all kinds of skills and contributions from all areas of the community. Do you have an idea for an event that you would love to run? Are you a community group that would love to show everyone what you do? Are you a business that is keen to stage an artist’s exhibit or event at your venue or workspace? Are you an artist who would love to display your work or put on a show? If you are, the festival needs you.”
