The Hornets started strongly with an opening try from Joshua Golden-Clarke which was equalised quickly from a fast Camborne attack. At the Hornets' restart Joshua Golden-Clarke made it over the line once more taking a one try lead.

The Camborne restart went forward giving Newquay possession and good ground was made by Matthew Alecock-Smith who passed to Joe Pearce who was tripped near the line, Newquay retained possession and offloaded to Ruby Reed to score.

Hornets quickly tried to improve their tagging and despite better defensive pressure Camborne reduced the Hornets' lead to one try once more.

Newquay's restart was turned over by the Camborne defence and a strong attacking run meant they were drawing level on the scoreboard. Hornets raised their game and excellent team work by Matthew Alecock-Smith and James Cockell enabled James to score. Matthew Alecock-Smith and Joe Pearce fought hard to defend the Camborne restart but they drew level once more.

James Cockell displayed excellent evasive play to score for Hornets and lovely defending by Thomas Austin and Ruby Reed couldn't prevent the Camborne equaliser.

In the dying seconds of the half fantastic passing between Joe Pearce, James Cockell, Ruby Reed and Joshua Golden-Clarke gave Joshua the opportunity to score making the half time score Hornets 30 points (six tries) to Camborne's 25 points (five tries).

In the second half Hornets knew they had to increase the pressure in defence and despite superb tagging by the young team, Camborne managed to draw level.

At the Newquay restart, James Cockell, Freddy Pearce and Joe Pearce passed excellently for James to make it over the line and score for Hornets.

The Hornets defending forced Camborne back at the restart but they managed to find a gap in the defence and score. Hornets practised their switch tactic once back in possession and James Cockell gave Hornets the lead again.

Camborne were finding it harder and harder to score due to the improved standard of tackling but made it over the line after having to work hard to score. Hornets' support play was excellent after the restart resulting in another try on the scoreboard.

At the Camborne restart Newquay managed to force the turnover and a long run the full length of the pitch by Joshua Golden-Clarke gave him a well deserved try. Camborne responded quickly and scored again.

The Hornets' passing continued to be strong and excellent work between Freddy Pearce, Geren Griffiths, Dylan Clough and Joe Pearce gave Hornets the try.

Hornets were only two tries ahead and Camborne scored quickly narrowing the lead.

Ruby Reed made excellent ground at the Hornets restart and superb ball handling by Joshua Golden-Clarke opened the lead once more.

Camborne were not deterred and answered strongly with another try inside the final minute and with 30 seconds remaining the pressure was on the young Hornets side at their restart to maintain possession.

Matthew Alecock-Smith, Geren Griffiths and James Cockell passed strongly to score the final try of the game.

The final score was Hornets 65 points (13 tries) to Camborne 55 points (11 tries).

The man of the match was awarded to Joshua Golden-Clarke and as this was his fifth award he also received a '5x man of the match trophy'. A further certificate for 'Best Warm Up' was awarded to Geren Griffiths.
