Newquay man charged with firearms offences and theft

A 74-YEAR-OLD Newquay man has been sent to Truro Crown Court on conditional bail charged with firearms offences and theft.

Terence Fitt, of Tower Road, appeared before Bodmin magistrates in custody on Monday charged with possessing a firearm with intent to cause a fear of violence, possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm without a certificate, as well as the theft of fuel.

Fitt had been arrested after police went to his home on Friday (November 16).

He was released on bail with conditions that he must reside at his home address, observe an electronically monitored curfew each night from 9pm to 6am and allow the police to retain his passport.
