Nominations invited for Friends' award in Helston area
Do you know someone worthy of receiving an environmental award in the Helston-Lizard area?
If so the Lizard peninsula Friends of the Earth would love to hear from you.
Back in 2001 Porkellis resident John Mackay made a bequest to fund the award which is now presented annually by the group.
The John Mackay award goes to an individual or group which has shown deep commitment to working for the environment.

The group's Yvonne Lewer said the award celebrated work for the environment in the widest sense. It consisted of a perpetual trophy locally carved from Cornish oak, a certificate and a small gift.
Anyone who would like to make a nomination for this year's John Mackay award, should email lizpenfoe@live.com or write to Yvonne Lewer at Ardgowan, Sithney, Helston TR13 0RN by February 2.
