Nostalgia gig will aid cancer charity
THE Bodmin branch of Cancer Research UK is putting on another musical revival night following the success of two similar events.
The main band, Rimfire, will include the branch's chairman and former Druids' guitarist Colin George.
The live music night is on Friday, May 24 at Syd's Bar in Bodmin, formally the Garrison Club.
Rimfire have re-formed to play their brand of rock 'n' roll and country, and as well as Colin George, include Frank Cory (former Gunslingers, Flamingos) and original Rimfire vocalist Maggie Sleep, plus Elliot Osborne (former Gunslingers' vocalist) and acoustic guitarist and vocalist Dave Stickland.
Mr George said: "The two live music revival nights held last year in aid of cancer research were a fantastic success; it was obvious that they were not just another gig but an important social occasion.
"It was a unique opportunity for everyone from the Cornwall music scene in the 1960s and 1970s to meet up and renew old friendships."
The evening will start at 8pm.
Tickets (£8) include a pasty supper and are available from Martin and Budge, Fore Street, Bodmin; Cole Rayment & White, Wadebridge, or from Colin George on 01208 72542.
