Nursery in west Cornwall handed positive report by Ofsted
A NURSERY in west Cornwall has been handed a positive review following its recent Ofsted inspection.
The Children's Ark day nursery in Pendeen was visited earlier this summer. Its report arrived at the end of August and was graded as "good" in all areas.
Ofsted described it as having a "kind and gentle" environment, with staff said to be "highly attentive and responsive to the children".
Virginia Davies is the manager of the nursery. "It's very pleasing that our efforts have been recognised by Ofsted," she said.

"We understand how sensitive and vulnerable young children are, so we work very hard to make the Ark like an extended family for them."
The manager said the nursery's success is also built on using the outdoors, as well as a supportive local community.
"We really try to do as much as possible outside – we like to give the children a natural experience.
"It's nice walking around the area because everyone is so friendly."
She added that her own children had a difficult time when they went to nursery, which inspired her to make sure the Ark was a happy place.
Parents were quick to praise the committee-led charity set up. Abigail Reynolds, from St Just, said: "Orla and Otis couldn't have had a warmer, more personal and caring approach.
"The focus on the uniqueness of each child is fantastic and gives me and my children a great deal of confidence."
Kevin Hessell, who lives in Pendeen and is the father of Toby, said he was thankful to the organisation for providing a positive environment.
He said: "I can't think of anywhere that could have provided more help and support for Toby. We are eternally grateful."
