Oliver takes his first steps with prestigious ballet
A promising dance student from Cornwall has just taken his first steps at the famous Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance.
Oliver Clarke's interest in pursuing dance as a career was sparked while he was still studying for his GCSEs at Callington Community College. The 18-year-old, from Gunnislake, in South East Cornwall, then went on to study for an extended diploma in dance at Cornwall College in St Austell.

He has now embarked on a three-year long degree in ballet and contemporary dance at the prestigious Rambert school in Twickenham.
"I decided to study at Rambert after I went for my audition and absolutely fell in love with the place," he said. "The level of discipline at the school motivates me even more to want to better myself.

"I have always loved the idea of dance but wasn't able to do much because it only started as a hobby.
"It wasn't until I was 15 when my dance teacher at Callington Community College, Miss Dukes, asked me to audition for Cornwall Youth Dance Company that I really started to want to do this as a career.
"I then did an audition for Youth Dance Academy, based in Swindon, and they asked me if I would like to join them on a pilot centre for an advanced training scheme in Exeter. It was here where I really came into my own and realised that I wanted to do this 24/7."
Oliver's lecturer at St Austell, Sarah Eldin, said that she was "honoured to have had to pleasure" of teaching him and watching him "grow into a beautiful and strong dancer".
"Oliver has dedicated himself to follow his dream of becoming a professional dancer and all his hard word has paid off," she said.
"Competition for places at dance schools is fierce and to be accepted to the prestigious Rambert is an amazing achievement."
