Olympic inspiration: How to follow your dream
Olympian Mark Hatton, Team GB luge rider, set just the right note when he inspired Cape students with a talk and a series of motivational workshops following on from a phenomenal summer of sporting success. He was at the school to formally launch its 'be the best you can be' programme – a fantastic scheme that raises the aspirations of young people, motivating them to plan a route to achieving their dreams. Former Olympic athlete David Hemery, who believes that 'there is a spark of greatness in everyone', has set up the national programme as part of his 21st Century Legacy charity. At the end of the programme all participants will be presented with a recognition medallion, produced and sponsored by the Royal Mint, intended to encourage them to continue to work towards their goals or set new ones.
