Olympic torchbearers to support runners during Penwith race
OLYMPIC torchbearers will cheer home runners during the third annual Penwith Radio Five-Mile Run this weekend.
Dave Jackson, Sarah Blight, Tassy Swallow, Keia Wardman and Keith Songhurst will be positioned at route markers as the runners head from the Wharfside Car Park to Marazion and back.
The race, in conjunction with Hayle runners, starts at 10am and registration is at 8.30am at Sound nightclub this Sunday, who are sponsoring the event.
Race organiser Neville Brown said: "This is probably the flattest five-mile course in Cornwall, which to the serious runners is an opportunity to record a personal best over this distance.
