PCSO to face trial on charges of misconduct

A police community support officer with Devon and Cornwall Police is to face trial next month accused of a string of misconduct in public office charges relating to alleged affairs with four women.

Peter Mark Bunyan pleaded not guilty to each of 12 offences when he last appeared before Taunton Crown Court in May.

The married father, who has worked in both Camborne and Redruth, faces four charges of misconduct in public office by engaging in sexual relationships with four women. He is also charged with six counts of misconduct by accessing the police computer records of six individuals, in one case passing them to a third party.

An additional charge of misconduct by obtaining a loan and one of engaging in sexual text messaging with a woman while on duty, were also brought.

Bunyan has been suspended from his duties by Devon and Cornwall Police. His trial is due to start on March 4.
