"I went outside to find out what was going on and the firefighters were spraying the building. It was really intense. Some other neighbours had come outside and were worried the fire would set their homes alight.
"The crew were tackling the fire for around an hour before it was under control. Then they spent the next few hours damping down. It was a hell of a fire."
There have been no injuries reported.
Initial reports suggested the blaze had torn through the former Lidl supermarket. But it has since been confirmed that the fire took place at an old refrigerator shop.
A firefighter on the scene suspects arson is the cause of the blaze.
A full fire investigation is on going.
