APPROVAL has been granted for the installation of a ground-mounted solar panel array in a meadow near a popular Isles of Scilly public swimming pool which, it was said, should satisfy the pool's power demands.

The 10kW photo voltaic array proposed for Normandy will, in two rows of south west-facing panels, measure 22.02m by 5.91m. The area covered would be 64.7m.

While Amanda Martin worried about noise in a residential area, a complaint from adjacent Normandy House about the potential noise from rain drumming on its roof was rejected.

Go ahead was given for the Carn Gwaval Community Health and Well Being Centre for a south-facing array of 28 roof-mounted photovoltaic panels.
