Paul wrap up first Cricket League Premier title in timely fashion at St Just
Paul did not have to wait too long on Saturday before making sure of their first Jolly's Drinks Cornwall Cricket League Premier League title.
Needing just a point at St Just, they won a useful toss, in the circumstances, and put the hosts in.

Neil Curnow and David Roberts set off at a rate of knots before Justin Stephens got the breakthrough having Roberts caught for 20. Then in the same over the key moment as Neil Curnow spooned a catch to Richard Hall, who did well to hang on at mid-on to cue the celebrations.
Gary Thomas made 25 and Tim Edwards 17 but the rest of the innings fell away with St Just missing new father Mark George and the injured Gareth May and Nick George.
Kelvin Snell took three for 36 with Matt O'Leary, Stephens and Neil Pengelly taking two each.
Paul were set on their way with an opening stand of 73 between Andrew Snell and Ryan Edwards (22). Snell went on to make 63 before being fifth out at 115. Fittingly skipper Stephens ended on 29 not out. Thomas took three for 36.
Truro just held on to third spot despite losing by seven wickets at Falmouth, who completed the double.
Truro, without Tom Sharp, recovered from losing an early wicket with Chris Martin making 35, Alex Tunnadine 24, James Walton 17 and Kyle Van Rooyen 47. From 141 for five they collapsed to 162 all out.
Duncan Ayres took four for 33. Van Rooyen got rid of Jon Udy and Harry Roberts with only four on the board. Adrian Noott with 85 not out and Duncan Ayres (51no) added an unbroken 134 for the fourth wicket. Van Rooyen ended with three for 40.
St Austell defeated Callington by three wickets in the last over at Wheal Eliza.
Scott Barrott made two early strikes to reduce the visitors to 11 for two. Dan Davis (27) and Matt Robins (40) added 73 for the third wicket. Luke Davis made 44 and Aidan Libby 22 in a total of 194 all out in the 53rd over. Spinners Andrew Libby and Matt Rowe took three wicket each.
Stefan Churcher (43) and Rowe (14) added 49 for the first wicket. After Dan Jarman made 20 it was Mike Bone (53) and Sean Hooper (26) that took the total to 164 for three before four late wickets fell.
Barrott (16no) and Liam Watson (8no) saw their side home with five balls remaining. Jim Shorten took three for 50.
Werrington's good finish continued with a five-wicket home win over Grampound Road, who reached 77 for one with Matt Manuell making fifty and Jonathan Bustin 19.
They slipped to 129 for eight before Lewis Sanders and Tom Turner got double figures. Seb Street took four for 35.
Needing 161, Werrington recovered from four for two as Street (41) and Alex Smeeth (56) saw the hundred up. Adam Hodgson made 22 before Ben Smeeth and Paul Smith conducted the last rites. Ben Rowse took two for 32.
Penzance ended winless with a 20-run defeat at Newquay. Joe Crane made 30, Martin Pearce 23 and Josh Busby 44 in Newquay's 160 all out, a recovery from 78 for five. Sulman Malik and Josh Fletcher took four wickets each.
Five of the top six Penzance batsmen got double figures, with Arfan Hussein making 28 and Mark Slade 21. Danny Brooks took five for 46 and Pearce three for 40.
In County Division One, the champions Troon lost by five wickets at Redruth. At the bottom, Luckett survived by just a point. They lost at Camborne but their eight points were just enough to finish ahead of Menheniot Looe, who beat Beacon. Falmouth seconds finished bottom, an eight-point deduction for playing an unregistered player being irrelevant in the final reckoning.
