Pedestrian hurt in st Austell rush hour accident

A MAN was taken to hospital after he was knocked down crossing a busy St Austell road during rush hour.

The 35 year-old man was crossing the Mevagissey roundabout on the A390 when he was hit by a Vauxhall Astra being driven by a man at about 9am today.

He was taken by ambulance to the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Treliske with a suspected broken leg.
