Penryn girl takes centre stage with Marti Pellow at Evita performance
A PENRYN mother has spoken of her pride after watching her young daughter take centre stage in Truro for a dance with former Wet Wet Wet front man, Marti Pellow.
Caroline Fox said she watched "in awe" as her 9-year-old daughter Chloe performed a tango style dance with the Scottish pop-star as part of a scene from the musical, Evita, at Truro's Hall For Cornwall.
Ms Fox said: "It was just incredible. Chloe's a little young to know who Marti Pellow is. But when she saw the promotional posters with his face on, she became very excited.
"Chloe has around six different roles in the production. There's one scene where it's a big party. Marti and Chloe took centre stage. He was spinning her around and she spins him around. It was incredible to watch."

The music for the performance was penned by lyricists Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, the latter of which was amongst the audience at the Hall for Cornwall on Monday.
Ms Fox added: "To know that he was in the crowd was just inspiting. I think Chloe has learned a lot from this. She's a member of Stagecoach Truro and has been for six years."
Evita tells the story of the life of Argentine political leader Eva Peron. It follows her early life, rise to power, charity work and eventual death.
Marti Pellow plays the role of Argentinean revolutionary Che Guevara - which has garnered praise from critics.
The musical will remain at Hall for Cornwall until Saturday September 28.
