Penzance gallery event will discuss future of Penzance
THE ongoing series of workshops discussing the future of Penzance at the town’s Exchange gallery continues next Thursday, October 17.
Under the banner, ‘A Postcard to Penzance’, tonight’s event looks at The Changing Shape of Towns.
Speakers Elizabeth Cox and Tobias Goevert will bring some of their experiences of urban regeneration projects and research about the ways in which the community can shape the way a town will look in the future.
Elizabeth Cox is an economist who leads on New Economics Foundation’s UK and international local economic development work.

Her work includes developing research programmes on local economic development and practical projects to support communities to reimagine their high streets.
Tobias Goevert is a principal officer in the Greater London Authority Regeneration Unit, which was established in 2013 out of Design for London and the capital project programme.
Tobias leads mayoral regeneration investment in London’s high streets and town centres across large areas of London, taking a key role in the development and implementation of infrastructure, economic development, mixed-use and public realm projects.
The speakers will be followed by an open debate and sharing of some of the Cornish experience and best local practice.
