Penzance hosts crowdfunding advice workshop
HAVE you got a business idea but don’t have the investment to get it off the ground?
If so, then the next meeting of the Cornwall Social Media Café could be of interest to you where crowdfunding – where small investments are taken from a large number of people to launch a business – will be the main topic of discussion.
There will be talks on crowdfunding along with the opportunities to meet and socialise with online entrepreneurs and people with a passion for social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Foursquare.
Emily Smith, of Crowdfund Cornwall, will give an introductory talk on the topic and answer questions while Matthew Clarke, who recently raised £5,000 for his Cornish language radio website, will shed some advice on how to launch a successful crowdfunding bid.
