Penzance teenager named as third Scottish Highlands avalanche victim

An 18-year-old teenager from Cornwall has been named as the third victim of Scottish Highlands avalanche.

Northern Constabulary said William Currie died in the incident last Thursday. He was from Penzance.

It is understood that Mr Currie a student on a course at the Glenmore Lodge centre.

Tributes have already been paid to the RAF personnel who were identified as Flight Lieutenant Fran Capps, 32, and Squadron Leader Rimon Than, 33, of RAF Valley in North Wales.

Flight Lt Fran Capps was originally from Dulverton, on Exmoor.

The incident was the latest of many accidents to have occurred on Scottish mountains in the past few weeks.
