People in the South West are the biggest drinkers in the UK according to latest figures.
The drinking habits survey from the Office of National Statistics showed more people in the South West admitting to having an alcoholic drink in the last week than anywhere else in the country.
The figures also showed more people in the South West drank alcohol on five or more days in the last week than elsewhere.
The survey showed that nationally 58 per cent of adults drank alcohol at least once in the week before being interviewed. In the South West the figure was 63 per cent, the highest in the UK.

The survey, which reflects habits in 2012, showed that 17 per cent of people in the South West drank alcohol on five or more days in the last week compared to 11 per cent nationally.
According to the survey older people were more likely to be frequent drinkers but younger people recorded more binge drinking.
Smokers were more than twice as likely as non-smokers to have drunk very heavily at least once during the week.
