Perranporth accountant, David Pennington, appears in court charged with £147,000 fraud
A CHARTERED accountant from Perranporth has appeared before magistrates in Truro charged with fraudulently obtaining more than £140,000.
David Pennington, 68, of Bolingey, whose business is based on Station Road in Perranporth, is accused of dishonestly abusing his position as chartered accountant and bank signatory for Park Retail South West Ltd by transferring funds from the firm into his own account over a two year period.

Truro Magistrates Court
It is alleged that he transferred sums; the total amounting to £107,198, between April 13, 2007 and July 21 2009.
He is also charged with writing an unauthorised cheque to himself for £30,000 drawn from his client's account, Derek Coyle on January 14 2008, and dishonestly transferring £10,000 from the same account into his own joint account with Sarah Morse on January 21 2008.

He was released on conditional bail until February 21 when magistrates will transfer his case to Truro Crown Court.
