TO CELEBRATE a new year and cohort of students to the BA (Hons) film degree at Falmouth, the university welcomes director Jeanie Finlay to The Poly to present her latest feature documentary The Great Hip Hop Hoax on Monday at 4pm.
The screening is free for both students and the public. Held in association with Vertigo Pictures and The Poly, it will include a Q&A with Finlay.

Friends in Harmony, the small, local four-part harmony choir, will combine with six lutenists, two violins, viola, flute, cello, theorbo and the keyboard to present an evening of musical expertise, variety and beauty.

OUT of the Ark Community Soundsystem and Konquerin Soundz are taking their final trip Pon Di River Inna Tug in Falmouth on Saturday taking the full soundsystem and very special guest YT for a trip up the Fal river representing the finest roots, dub and dancehall reggae.
TRURO Cambiata and the Cornwall Boys' Choir will be in concert at Constantine Parish Church on Saturday at 7pm, prior to going to the Royal Albert Hall. The concert is in aid of church funds.

A NEW weekly club night starts in Falmouth on Monday.
Sold As Scene's will see DJs on ground level playing a real eclectic mix, some obscure, some classic tracks but all that you can dance to.
The main room will be playing new indie records and electro, the playlists will go online so people can request tracks and also check out what will or what has been played at previous events.
The night is held at Mangos, Church Street – the venue is over two floors and has a capacity of 550. Doors open at 10pm until late and entry is £3.
