St Andrew's churchwarden Rosemary Robinson said: "We normally do a two-day pilgrimage in May or June, but because our team vicar was ill, we had to postpone.

"We incorporated the five churches in the Redruth benefice, and we visited Holy Trinity at St Day as well."

A pilgrimage was first held in 2008 to celebrate the 125th anniversary of St Andrew's, Redruth, and it has now become a tradition. Those who were unable to walk the full distance instead drove between churches to join in the prayers.

Mrs Robinson added: "Everyone who took part really enjoyed it, even if they could only do certain bits.

"It brought people together, rather than just inside church on a Sunday.

"Church isn't just about going to a service on a Sunday, it's about doing things together outside as well."
