Pilot completes 96km charity 'yomp' at Dartmouth's BRNC
A Royal Navy pilot has paid tribute to Falklands War heroes by completing a walk for charity around the grounds at Britannia Royal Naval College, in Dartmouth.
Lieutenant Victor Currie, 26, was weighed down with 20kg to emulate the 1982 long distance march carrying full kit as he walked around the ramps surrounding the parade ground at the historic Naval College in south Devon.
Lt Currie walked for 96km, equal to the distance between San Carlos and just outside Port Stanley, where the Royal Marines prepared for the battle. Lt Currie said: "I wanted to complete the whole distance in homage to all those who took part in the yomp in 1982.
"As a group we wanted to raise money for the British Limbless Ex-Service Men's Association. There's lots of charity runs, but we wanted to do something with a military angle.

"The hardest part of my walk was keeping going and the boredom. I was constantly doing maths and fractions in my head, working out how long I had left to go."
