Pirate FM radio group UKRD is ranked top UK company to work for
Redruth-based independent radio group UKRD has been ranked as the UK's top employer for the third consecutive year in the Sunday Times' Best Companies list.
The annual ranking of mid-sized organisations, which are compiled based on feedback garnered from employees, also named UKRD chief executive William Rogers as the UK's Best Leader for the second year in a row.
UKRD, which is behind local radio station Pirate FM, employs 275 staff across its 17 commercial radio stations across England. It has a geographic reach which stretches from Cornwall to Sunderland in the North East.
The group, which also develops software and is behind a number of websites, achieved the highest marks in a survey which saw more than 90% of its employees say they believed they made a "valuable contribution" to the success of the organisation and loved their job.

Mr Rogers said: "This is a simply extraordinary thing for our company to achieve. It's a real tribute to all our managers and teams who have built a truly remarkable company in which to work.
"We have a very low churn-rate of staff. That says a great deal in itself. We believe that you get far better results if you grow the people in your business in terms of their character, behaviours and approach just as much as their skill-set. I think that is evidenced by the level of passion we have in our business."
Consumer group Save Britain Money, which is behind businesses including We Claim U Gain and Fuelswitch.com, has been ranked second on the list, while restaurant chain TGI Fridays makes up the top three.
