PEOPLE in Penwith are invited to watch a one-off musical performance starring Griff Rhys Jones, Rory McGrath and Dara O'Briain, as they film for a BBC TV series.

The programme is the third series of Three Men in a Boat, filmed by Liberty Bell Productions, and will see the actors attempt a last-minute performance of The Pirates of Penzance, at St John's Hall on Monday evening.

Last year the project saw the actors sail from Tower Bridge in London to the Isle of Wight in Griff's yacht Undina.

This year their travels take them from Plymouth, down the Cornish coast and to the Scilly Isles, where they will meet people with stories to tell and learn more about the smuggling coast.

The men will be thrown onto the stage to perform the Gilbert and Sullivan feat, with barely any rehearsal time.

The event is free and any donations will go to the Penlee RNLI. There are 150 seats to fill and entrance will be on a first come, first in basis. Doors will open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.

The programme is due to be broadcast at Christmas.
