Plan to build a second town centre
A SECOND town centre could be created on the eastern side of St Austell, the Cornish Guardian can reveal.
Walker Developments wants to turn a five-acre brownfield site close to Tesco in Holmbush into a shopping area with national retailers as well as providing a health centre, dentist, community hall and play school.
However, this scheme and four others on the table in St Austell – for other supermarkets and retail developments – could all be affected by news that a flagship eco-town development for 5,000 homes across the Clay Country has been put on hold.
On Tuesday night Eco-Bos, the company spearheading the eco-town proposals, admitted it was putting the scheme on hold.
