Players get their chance to shine
REDRUTH head coach Adrian Edwards believes the imminent departure of Sam Parsons will open the door for others to make the step up from development rugby this season.
Centre Parsons, who is moving to Australia, played his final home game for the Reds in Saturday's 44-14 win over Chinnor at the Recreation Ground (match report page 111).
It was a result that moved the Reds up to third in National 2 South, as Edwards' men made it an impressive six wins from a possible seven this season.
And while the Reds' coach admits the loss of Parsons will be a blow, he also sees it as an opportunity to introduce more development players.

He said: "You don't like to lose players of Sam's quality but we have to move on.
"Players from the Development squad will be eyeing up his shirt."
Parsons couldn't have asked for a better send off at the weekend, scoring one of Redruth's seven tries and earning himself the man of the match award.
And Edwards felt it was fitting that Parsons performed as he did in his final home game.
He added: "Today was a great way for him to finish with a try and the man of the match award."
On Saturday the Reds head to struggling Lydney, who sit second from bottom in the table after winning just one of their opening eight league games.
There will be certainly no lack of confidence going into this weekend's game in Gloucestershire, and backs' coach Steve Evans has revealed how the mood in the Redruth camp is good following their impressive start to the campaign.
Referring to Saturday's victory over Chinnor, Evans said: "That was probably our best performance of the season, the boys are playing with a lot of confidence at the moment.
"It's another win on the board and more points in the bag.
"As coaches we don't like to shout out about targets we've made but we're delighted with the start we've made to the season."
