THE start of the point to point season gets under way at Black Forest Lodge at Kenton near Exeter on Sunday. Another bumper entry means there will be seven races with the first under way at 11am.

First action of the new season in Cornwall comes on Sunday December 11 with the Cornwall Hunt Club meet at the Royal Cornwall Showground, Wadebridge. First race at noon.

Point to point enthusiasts will be watching out on Sunday for eye catching new talent for the season ahead, as young novice horses take their place in the first Maiden race run over 2m4f. There are two divisions with 19 in each.

With its natural amphitheatre, and surrounded by stunning autumn colours, viewing is exceptional at the track. Going at the course has been described earlier this week as good.
