Police are concerned for her welfare and are appealing for help to find her.
A spokesman from Devon and Cornwall Police said: "She was staying in a hotel and when she failed to come down for dinner the hotel staff became concerned.
"They checked her room and found out that she had left a lot of her personal belongings such as an ipod, radio, toiletries and clothes behind but she had taken the key and her car.
"She was by herself and the car has been found near Gunwalloe and Chyvarloe.
"We have checked the address she gave to the hotel but nobody seems to know her so we don't know who she is for certain.
"But she is known to stay at B&Bs or hotels in the Cornwall area."
Amanda Hicks is a slim build white female with collar length black and grey hair.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 08452 777444 quoting log 976.
