Police convince distressed woman to step away from Newquay cliff edge
Emergency services were called to Newquay last night after a woman was seen sitting on the edge of a cliff.
It took police officers three and a half hours to convince the woman, who was described as being in a distressed state, to move away from the cliff edge.
The incident took place on cliffs at Whipsiderry at around 6pm.
A lifeboat and coastguards assisted during the incident and helped keep people away from the area.
