Police dog finds suspect near Fowey wanted in connection with burglary

A 23 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary following a police search of a rural area near Fowey.

Officers received information during the evening of Friday 26 October and as a resulted mounted a planned operation around an isolated coastal property in Lanteglos near Fowey.

As a result and following a sustained and tenacious search by the Police Dog, the handler and supporting Special Constable in this isolated and difficult terrain area the suspect was arrested on suspicion of burglary. He was then detained at Launceston Police Station.

A subsequent search of an address in Penzance was then carried out by Officers from Penzance Police Station and the investigation is being continued by Detectives from Liskeard CID and Bodmin Scenes of Crime Officers.

Further arrests are anticipated in connection with the investigation. The suspect, a Lithuanian national, has been released on conditional Police Bail pending the conclusion of those arrests and further enquiries.

He was released on police bail and is due to return to the police on 17 January 2013.
