Police issue appeal over death of motorist Desmond Barnes, 84
An 84-year-old man whose car left the A30, near Penzance, and crashed into a hedge is believed to have died of natural causes, police have revealed.
Desmond Barnes, of Marazion, was pronounced dead following the single vehicle accident, on December 28.
He was driving a silver Mazda 323 at Newtown roundabout, Long Rock, in the direction of St Erth when the vehicle left the road and went into a hedge.
Mr Barnes was found unconscious at the scene and was taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Treliske, where he was later pronounced dead.

Devon and Cornwall Police have launched an investigation and are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch.
Officers would particularly like to speak to a cyclist who stopped at the scene but left before police arrived.
