Polperro flood defences stand up to onslaught
In Polperro, Cornwall, flood defences installed at the turn of the millennium largely did their job. Edwina Hannaford, Cornwall councillor for the area, said only about four properties had experienced problems this time. "It is fair to say the flooding wasn't as bad as it could have been. I think the flood defence did its job," she said.
