Popular Authors Marcia Willett & E.V Thompson at Trematon Hall Saltash on Friday
Large numbers of fans turned up at the idyllic setting of Trematon Hall in Saltash on Friday 2nd December, organised by Saltash based independent book store the Bookshelf & Tea Room, to listen to famous westcountry writers Marcia Willett and E.V Thompson talk about their lives and how they came to be successful authors.
Other writers at Trematon Hall on the day included local historical writer for Saltash and the Tamar Valley, Bruce Hunt and Mike Critchley who delighted the audience with his tales of life in the Navy. E.V Thompson and Marcia Willett are both prolific writers who started their writing career later in life.
E.V Thompson's first book 'Chase the Wind' won an award that helped him towards a writing career and the publication of future novels, including the hugely popular series 'The Retallick Saga'. E.V Thompson aka James Munro has become well known for historical novels set in the rugged terrain of Bodmin Moor and his portrayal of Cornish life.
Marcia Willett described herself as a 'reader' not a 'writer' and did not write her first book until she was in her fifties. Marcia is now published in over 16 countries and one of her novels is set to become a movie in France. Marcia, who replies to all her fan mail said: "Being a writer you always have surprises in life that you never quite get used to and is always a wonderful experience"
