Average annual asking prices were the highest since 2007 and first-time buyer activity reached its highest level in five years. Mortgage approvals reached a ten-month high and mortgage affordability was at its best level for 15 years.
Duncan Ley, of Chesterton Humberts in Truro, says: "These are encouraging indicators for those looking to buy and to sell."
If this momentum is sustained, Chesterton Humberts believes that the UK's housing market could soon see sales increase.
