Possible third auction of centre
THE saying goes, if at first you don't succeed ....
Helston's former community centre may be auctioned for the third time in less than a year, with a guide price as low as £100,000.
It failed to reach its guide price in September and was auctioned again in November when a bid of £165,000 was accepted.
But although some of the money has been paid to owner Helston Town Council, the majority of it has not yet been forthcoming.

The council has given the bidder until next Tuesday before cancelling the contract.
If this happens the council will put it up for auction again on July 25.
Property auctioneers Clive Emson are advertising the latest auction – providing the outstanding funds from the previous one are not received by Tuesday – on the detached granite building which they say "could offer a range of development opportunities, including residential conversion".
The property, in Penrose Road, has a freehold guide price of £100,000 to £150,000, the same as at the auction in November, although the successful bid made at that time was slightly higher.
Graham Barton, auctioneer, said: "Subject to all the necessary consents being obtainable, this property could be sub-divided into flats or used commercially as a guest house, hotel or company office."
