Praze-an-Beeble Women’s Institute turns 60
THE Praze-an-Beeble Women’s Institute celebrated its 60th anniversary last week, when 60 women joined together to enjoy a “splendid” evening of live music and cake.
The group received several cards of congratulations, including one from a member of Sandringham WI – the Queen.
Praze members were joined by WI county chairman, Kathy Reed and Avril Woolcock, county advisor.
The event bought together friends from Pengegon and Beacon WIs, as well as past members of Praze-an-Beeble WI – with some guests travelling from as far afield as the north of the county.
WI member, Noreen Murdoch, said: “This was a splendid evening with a fantastic cake made and decorated by Marion Prout.
“The evening entertainment was provided by the St Aubyn Singers who were simply fantastic.
“Our thanks go out to all who helped and all who attended to make this night a truly memorable event.”
The cake was cut by Mary Rowe, the longest continuous serving member of Praze-an-Beeble WI, and Kathy Reed.
The evening was organised by president, Joy Glasson, with help from the committee and all members of the WI.
