Priest to take over at three churches
A CHURCH facing a fundraising battle to repair its roof will have a new priest in time for Christmas.
Bridget Guzek will become the new priest of St Buryan, St Levan and St Sennen churches on December 4.
The three churches have been without a permanent priest since January when Father Brin Berriman ended his seven-year term in charge.
Mrs Guzek, who is currently based in Clevedon, North Somerset, will become part-time priest, staying in the vicarage formerly occupied by Father Berriman.

She said: "We know the Falmouth area but I am looking forward to exploring a very interesting area. When you get west of Penzance it feels different. It has a fascinating history and I want to explore that more and they have almost finished this tremendous fundraising job for the roof, it's getting there."
Michael Jeffrey, church warden at St Sennen Church, said the church members are looking forward to Mrs Guzek's arrival.
Parishioners at St Buryan issued a plea last month to try to fill the approximate £50,000 shortfall needed to refurbish its roof by November. More than £300,000 has been raised in grants and donations so far.
