Prisons failing to give education and training
England's prisons are failing to provide decent education and training, which would help stop re-offending, Ofsted has warned. Not one prison was rated as outstanding for the education and training it offers in the last four years, and just 35% were judged to be good, according to Matthew Coffey, the watchdog's national director for further education and skills. He called the figures "unacceptable" and said there would be a "national outcry" if it was the standard in schools.
