Probus goat dons wellies to protect her feet from the downpour
AT THIS time of year you might expect to see a Puss in Boots, but this Christmas one animal shelter has been forced to put one of its goats in wellies. The onslaught of wet weather in recent weeks has left a resident at Maria's Animal Shelter in Probus with such constantly wet feet, she is having treatment to keep them dry. Maisie, a 12-year-old rescue goat, has been at the animal shelter for six months. She already suffers from arthritis and her feet are at risk of developing foot rot. Charity founder Maria Mulkeen said they were already giving her intensive moisturising to keep her hooves healthy, but rubber footwear may be the only answer, if the wet weather continues.
