Prosecution did not pursue ABH charge
CHRISTOPHER SHAW, aged 37, of Penbrea Road, Penzance, admitted common assault and was given a year's community order by Truro magistrates.
In a recent edition of The Cornishman we reported that he had pleaded not guilty to assaulting his partner, causing her actual bodily harm.
The prosecution offered no evidence on this charge at a later hearing and instead proceeded on the common assault charge, for which Shaw was sentenced and also ordered to take part in an alcohol programme.
